Gene Glover

Gene Glover is the leader of The Roof Raisers and has been at the helm for over 20 years.  Gene plays drums in the band and also covers male lead vocal duties.  Gene graduated with a Masters of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas in 1979 and has been teaching music at Richland College since the fall of 1979. On graduation from North Texas, Gene moved to Dallas and set up shop as a free lance drummer & percussionist. He started doing a lot of recording work in the Metroplex including radio I. D. packages (jingles), radio and television commercials, film score and albums for local artists. Playing for the Dallas Summer Musicals, Casa Manana, Dallas Pops Orchestra and other local band leaders provided the groundwork for Gene to start the Roof Raisers in 1986.  Gene has also played drums/percussion for big names like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Delbert McClinton, Doc Severinson , George Strait, Reba McIntire, Hank Thompson, Sandi Patti, Bo Didley, Pat Boone, Jim Neighbors, Danny Ganz, The Coasters, The Platters, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Barry White, and The Moody Blues, to name a few.  Gene has led his own bands since the age of 14 and began The Roof Raisers in 1986.  Since then, the group has grown into one of the foremost special event bands in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
